I've started making jewelry again. Making beautiful things with my hands is one of my passions. Making labyrinths and playing in the labyrinth energy is another. This website is where I present both.

Labyrinths have been with us for thousands of years. They appear on coins from the Minoan Civilization on the island of Crete. Romans used labyrinths to train horses. North American Natives use them as symbols of the unconscious mind. One labyrinth in Greece was found scratched on the back of a clay tablet 3200 years old! 

Modern people are finding a way to release stress and connect with their inner selves through the use of labyrinths. By tracing the pattern in, then out, a calm and clear feeling comes over the person. Some attendees at Labyrinth Workshops report spontaneous healing of old emotional wounds. Others report that the hidden solutions to a problem reveal themselves. At a gathering of dowsers, auras were measured before and after the use of a special labyrinth. Before walking the labyrinth, auras radiated a few meters from the individuals. After walking the labyrinth, the same auras could be detected 30 meters away. 

Whatever their influence on the human system, they are beautiful images that I couldn't resist making into jewelry. 

The Chartres style is found in the Cathedral at Chartres, France. You can still walk this eleven circuit labyrinth today. During the Holy Wars in the Middle East it was too dangerous to make the devotional trip to Jerusalem. Pilgrims went instead to the cathedrals .  They made their pilgrimages to the Holy Land symbolically by walking the pattern of the labyrinth set into the marble floors of the Cathedrals.

The Classic or Seven circuit labyrinth is found all over the world. It is the style of labyrinth found on the Minoan coins. There are hundreds of this style pattern scattered across Scandinavia.
