Today's project:
Photoetch Chartres labyrinth designs in photo sensitive polymer (pnp).
Robert Ferre generously agreed to let me use the perfect image from
his site.(See our Links on the Index Page.)
The pnp is a light sensitive plastic that hardens when exposed to light.
I put a mask on top of the pnp and expose it to light. The dark areas of
the mask shade the pnp from the light and don't harden. The unhardened
pnp is then easily scrubbed away. Well, after a little trial and error,
it was easily scrubbed away. The results are these two plaques.
The greenish image is the reverse of the yellow image. That is, the raised
parts of the green design are recessed on the yellow.
Soon, I'll post images of the rubber molds and silver castings made
from thse etchings.
