At
the left center of the image is a draftsman's lead holder with a hockey
stick shaped knive in it instead of pencil lead. Above that are three round
wax burs. These burs work well on wax because they have only three blades,
hence they clog up with wax less than more finely bladed metal burs.
To the right of them is a large, 1 centimeter in diameter, cylinder bur. It is great for removing large quantities of wax in a very short time.
Next are four wax knives with tools shaped on each end. They fit easily into the draftsman's lead holder. It grips the blades well enough for careful carving. A pin vise can also be used to hold the knives though it takes much longer to switch blades in it. The pin vise will hold the blades much more securely for heavy carving. It's better to use an exacto knife for that weight of carving or, even better, a flex shaft tool with a wax bur for rough cutting.
At the bottom left center is a copy of a side view of the Marco Cat. This copy will be attached to the block of wax to the right of the copy.
