In June, 2000, Victor
and I designed this little labyrinth in concert with the land on which
he built his home.
The tropical almond in the center was a surprise to me. I'd never been
in a labyrinth with anything but people in the center. The feeling in this
pattern is very sweet, warm, nurturing.
Victor and Judy have since planted banana and birds-of-paradise around
the outside edge giving this 7 circuit labyrinth a very private and protected
feeling.
The site before we began work. The four trunks in the center is the
tropical almond tree. Just to the left of it is a group of banana trees
that were transplanted over to the right, past the orange wheelbarrow.
This is the 'after' shot. It's high noon and the path is almost completely
in the shade. That's something VERY positive in the summer heat of southwest
Florida.
