Rain kept us off the labyrinth until 11 this morning. We still got a lot done. It is more than half way colored now. It's funny. Just after I had gone into the church office to check weather.com, John ran into the office and said, 'Does the radar show the sprinkles that we're getting right now?'

I ran out and helped to pull the plastic over the cement that we'd just put down. It takes about an hour for it to set up to the point where it is safe from rain. Otherwise, the rain will erode the new cement and the color will run! Not a good situation so we are cautious about painting too near to the arrival of rain storms. Thanks to http://www.weather.com we can usually time our work safely.

Gary Lundquist came by and snapped a few images. Here is one showing lines from yesterday and today. Notice that the outside edge, the lunations, are much lighter than the long inner lines. This happens when the freshly colored cement gets wet like it did in the rain storm last night. This lightness dissappears when we put our coats of sealer on the labyrinth at the end of our process.

During this morning's rain, we ate a late breakfast and shopped some of the thrift stores downtown. Dave was lucky enough to find a bee hive blender body by Oster from the early 50's. Watch Ebay for his offerings. His sales name there is 'Mrs_Wiggins' (named in honor of their beloved cat, now departed). He collects and refurbishes antique blenders and waffle irons. When the rain started back up in the afternoon, we stopped in at a few of the thrift stores we'd missed.

Sometimes it seems like our work is not going to get done! We keep at it and somehow get finished. Pray for dry days while we're here!
