| This is the Labyrinth at Unity of
Naples. It's made with 'reef rock'. The quarry calls it 'rip rap'. I like
the term reef rock because it lets you know that the rock is from an ancient
reef. There are all kinds of cool fossils in the rock that catch your eye
as you walk the pattern.
The ground is covered with Australian pine needles. The path is sometimes
soft and sometimes hard. The path is not perfectly flat. The path
usually curves. If you want to stay on the path, you have to keep adjusting
your footing. There are a few short places where you get to walk the straight
and narrow. But most of the circuit requires you to steer to one side or
the other. It's a perfect mirror of life.
