This labyrinth is really shaping up. We made good progress today with Kathy mixing and Robert, David, and Chuck 'painting'. John and Judy came by and began to rework the drain grating in the center of the labyrinth. It's looking much better now.

David has assumed the painting pose. We keep our heads down, focused on applying a thick and even coat of color to the lines. It gets to be a little old by the end of the day. But the labyrinth gets built. That's what we're here for.
It's not all focus and back ache. Kathy reflects that constant happiness we find in this work.
John had us hamming it up for the camera in this image.
If you look carefully, you can see two different colors of 'cement' between my left hand and the bottom of the picture. The darker cement is still wet. The lighter color is cement that has dried.
At the end of our coloring process, after we've done the final touch up on our work and swept and vacuumed the labyrinth, we seal it. We'll roll a polymer sealant over the whole pattern to waterproof and protect the pattern. This will restore the lighter color to the darker color, which matches the color of the door and metal work in the courtyard.
One of the things that I do while I'm home is make jewelry. Click on the following picture to see a piece that was finished and shipped the week before I came to Livermore.
