Tuesday, we waited until 4 pm to start rolling the final coat of sealer onto the labyrinth. It was thundering and getting cloudier by the minute. We checked weather.com and saw the storms approaching. That was enough to stop us.
The freshly applied sealer turns a permanent milky white when it gets wet. Needless to say, we want the sealer to be perfectly clear! So we'll wait for this afternoon to apply the last coat.

I've really enjoyed my time in Livermore.
Thank you for the warm, friendly and helpful reception you've given us all!
Judy and John Hughes have been present every day for us. They came and organized the cleanup of the drain grating in the labyrinth. They organized our delightful dinner parties with the generous folks who invited us into their homes. John picked Robert and I up at the airport. They supplied me with CD's of all the images they captured of our labyrinth making process. Note that I've used less than a 10th of the pictures they gave me! (I only have so much room on my website!) Every step of the way they were present asking, "Is there anything that we can do. Is there anything that you need?" When it comes time to give credit for the creation of a labyrinth in your community, please put Judy and John Hughes at the top of the list.
I know that there are plenty of people who pitched in to bring this idea at the First Presbyterian Church of Livermore. to fruition. Thank you for all the work you have all done.
Thank you to Rev. William Nebo for keeping the spiritual health of his congregation in mind. This labyrinth will help people get closer to their God now, and for hundreds of years into the future.
Thanks to Dr. Michael Stevens who came all the way from the other side of the planet to learn about making labyrinths. We've enjoyed your wry Australian humor and all the great work you've done for us. I hope we meet again, soon, down under!
Thanks to Darryl and Karen Albertson, Marv and Mary V. Dickerson, Emilie and Howard Seebach, and Pat and Don Griggs for the delicious meals and good company that they shared with us in the evenings. Don and Pat Griggs hosted Robert and I while here. (We love their hot tub!) John and Judy Hughes hosted David Ferre and Judy Child. Thank you over and over! It is a real treat to live in someone's home when making these labyrinths. It is a real relief to come 'home' at night to a real household rather than a hotel with all its attendant odors of 'air fresheners' and disinfectants and TV's blaring into the wee hours next door.
Late Bulletin! Joy Fischer has prepared a sumptuos quiche feast for us. We came into the A1 office and were surprised by a beautifully laid table, sideboard and flowery and inspirational decorations! Wow! What a send off! Thanks, Joy!
Michelle came in from the office to snap this picture of us.
I'm sure that I'm missing some people who contributed to this project in this 'Thank you'. Please forgive my oversight. Thank you ALL for your contributions to this project.
I'll post a few images of the finished pattern when I have them. Robert will give me a ride to Oakland in the morning to catch my early flight back to Asheville. I hope you have a great time walking Robert's Artwork.
Thank you very much for reading this little journal. Please tell all your friends about this blog. I'll leave it up on my site for at least several months. When I change it, I'll edit it down to a "before and after" page. Your labyrinth will always be on my website. I hope we meet again in the future for more Labyrinth Fun!
I know that you are interested in having a labyrinth like this for your very own! Please visit Robert Ferre's web site Labyrinth Enterprises for complete information on how to do this!
