Our crew has changed over the last three days. Robert Ferre and Chuck Hunner brought the tools and knowledge. Young gentlemen named Steven, Landon, and Mitchell brought their good hands to do the labor. They had to leave before the pattern was finished. John brings his steady and excellent work to us while he waits for Colorado School of Mines' summer session to start. Jess Armstrong came to learn about how to make labyrinths for churches. Her passion for spiritual action lifts our whole group. Finally Kevin came to help us color the labyrinth. His presence is really helping us to move forward with our project. His energy is a little like David Blonski's. Maybe it's just his facial hair since I've not yet seen a didgeridoo nor a flute.
From left to right in this picture are - Kevin, John, Jess, and Robert.
Here is an image of Robert working with the hopper gun (srayer). Turns out this tool was never meant to be adapted to this material. We could not get enough material to flow through the device for it to work well.
So we switched to applying the color by hand.
John carefully peels up the plastic and tape to reveal the labyrinth pattern.
The weather closed in on us. This shows our improvised plastic tarp covering the pattern. The tape we use is 90% waterproof, but we try to avoid relying on that other 10%.
I'll post more images in the next day or so. We expect to have the labyrinth finished by Sunday evening.
